This was a really good recipe so I thought I would share it. If any one has any good fish or chicken recipes please send them my way.
-
1 large skinless salmon fillet (1 1/2 pounds)
-
course salt and ground peeper
-
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
-
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
-
1 cup dry white wine
-
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
Preheat oven to 450°. Place salmon on a rimmed baking sheet; season with salt. Roast until opaque throughout, about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt butter over medium. Add flour, and cook, whisking, 1 minute. Add wine, and bring to a boil; reduce to a simmer, and cook until liquid is reduced by half, 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in chives; season with salt and pepper. With fork, gently break salmon into large chunks and serve with whit-wine sauce.

We where surprised Monday morning with 4″ of snow, of course the weather man made it sound like we may get a dusting. Paul drove all the way to work in his new truck (no 4-wheel drive mind you), just so they could send him home. He mad it back up to Marysville but got stuck about 2 miles down the road on one of the hills. He was in good company he said the fire truck was stuck next to him as well at the Sheriff. It was about a 45 minute walk home since my car does not do snow. When he got home he drove the 4-wheeler back down to his truck with a shovel, luckily he was able to drive our old neighborhood and left the truck at Allen’s and drove the 4-Wheeler home.
The kids of course didn’t have school so after breakfast they went out side to play. It looked like they had a good time, I watched from the window with Aubrey. We where so board by the second day of the kids being home, we took some pictures for fun.

Last Thursday I took Haley & Payton to the roller skating party put on by the school, they really wanted to go even though Haley doesn’t even know how to skate yet. Payton had to help her since I couldn’t roller skate with Aubrey. It didn’t go so well at first and we had her skates tightened up a little, unfortunately for Payton it didn’t make much of a difference. Haley managed to give Payton some sort of burn on her arm with her roller skate and came very close to hitting her in the face as well. I think Haley made it a total of three laps around the rink and she was exhausted, crying, and complaining her rear end hurt to bad to continue (poor girl). We watched Payton skate a little while longer then we left a little early in Laue of every ones injuries.

About a month ago Paul’s white truck (aka the beater with pealing paint and cracked windshield) blew the transmission on his way home from work. Since it was going to cost more to fix it than the truck was worth, Paul sold it to the owner of the transmission place for $100. It has been killing him to drive the red Dodge to work everyday, with the price of gas it was a real killer every week. Last Sunday he asked me to put the truck up for sale on Craigslist, so that he could buy another beater that gets better gas mileage. Well it only took a week to sell it and now it’s gone. It was really hard to let it go it was a part of our family since it was the first vehicle we have bought together when we got married. It was a good thing that the neighbor had a truck for sale that fit our needs. It’s not much to look at but it get way better gas mileage, since it is a 4 cylinder, manual 5 speed, it has a little flip down seat in the extra cab that Haley really likes. We plan to get a family car after I return to work.

All of you who enjoy scrap-booking I found the coolest machine ever. It is called the Cricut machine. It cuts images out of card stock, that can be used for scrap-booking, making cards, and doing school projects. I bought one at Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago and it really is worth the $$$ and the kids really had a good time with it as well. It is so easy to use, the only bad thing is the cartridges with the images on them are a little spendy. If anyone finds some used one for a reasonable price please let me know. If anyone is interested the web site is www.cricut.com. I found that Wal-Mart had the most reasonable prices on both the machine and the cartridges.
